There are difference in commercial models, hosting requirements, and regional avaialbility to provide the best possible fit for our customers.
In simple terms, if you are a customer on the African continent and you do not want to host and operate infrastructure yourself then MyPass Cloud is a clear choice. If you have requirements to host cloud services in Europe, then head for FastPass Cloud; and if you want to control and operate all your own infrastructure, FastPass on-premises might be best choice for you.
If you are unsure about which option best suites your business, lets have a architecture discussion.
The MyPass/FastPass solution is available for on-premise as well as for cloud.
In our cloud options there are shared, dedicated or service provider hosting options. The choice of which deployment suites your business comes down to various factors like security requirements and cost.
If you have specific deployment needs, please Contact Us so we can confirm which option would best suite your requirements.
For Active Directory SSPR implementations we can have you up and running in less than 2 weeks. For complex implementation with password synchronization to IBM mainframes or SAP, this could take an additional few weeks (typically around 3 months from start to finish).
The main factor that determines the timeline is the deployment of infrastructure on customer sites and the granting of access to integrated systems.
For more information about this, please refer to the MyPass Documentation site.

To ensure the highest security standards, MyPass conducts continious vulnerability, configuration and postune management scans. This comprehensive scanning includes all production systems, applications, and servers.
All detected vulnerabilities or configuration issues are classified based on the severity, impact, and the likelihood of exploitation. This systematic approach allows us to effectively manage and mitigate potential risks in our cloud infrastructure.
Absolutely. MyPass prioritizes data security, especially during data transit. One of our fundamental security measures is the mandatory use of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates for all communications both within thee data centres and over the internet. This ensures that any data exchanged between users and MyPass is encrypted, significantly enhancing security and protecting against data interception or unauthorized access during transmission.
Note that strong cipher and protocols are used in the configuration of all transport security.
Yes, MyPass ensures that all sensitive data is encrypted when stored in our environment. This includes any data at rest within the MyPass Cloud, MyPass/FastPass Gateway as well as any data store.
For specific details on the types of data that are read, stored, and require write access in target repositories such as Active Directory and Entra ID, we recommend consulting the respective documentation on the MyPass Documentation site. This information will give you a comprehensive understanding of our data handling practices and the security measures in place to protect your data at all times.
Systems integrated into MyPass/FastPass are requiresd to provide connection credentials for normal operations. These credentials are stored within the custommer environment on the MyPass/FastPass Gateway server. This provide maximum control to critical credentials.
Note it is also possible to bring your own keys for the encryption of this data. For more information regarding this, please reach our to the MyPass team.
MyPass/FastPass is also strongly aligned with controls within FIPS (Federal Information Security Management) 140-2 standards, starting from version 4.0 onwards. We utilize a 256-bit AES algorithm for encryption and a PBKDF algorithm for hashing. This compliance extends across all components, from the Windows Client to the Server including Domain Controller communiations ensuring robust security throughout the system.
MyPass/FastPass provides the functionality to automatically delete user data and restrict access as needed. This is achieved by regularly checking the source user repository. User data can be set to be automatically deleted under certain conditions, such as if the user account is deleted or disabled, is no longer a member of a group authorized to use MyPass/FastPass, or becomes a member of a group specifically designated for deletion. This ensures that user data management aligns with the current status and permissions within the organization.
Please note that the users history actions are kept in the Audit log for security reasons and the user deprovisioning process can also assist with licenses harvasting.
Yes, we leverage breached password lists, configurable password filters and know bad password lists to keep use password strong and effective. These lists are routinely updated on our support site and cloud platforms.
For best practises we recommend configuring your tenantto disallow passwords that appear more than 1000 times in breach incidents. While it's possible to ban all breached passwords, we find that setting a threshold, such as 1000 occurrences, strikes a balance between security and user convenience, preventing overly restrictive password requirements.
Yes, we keep a comprehensive and detailed audit log that meticulously records every action. This includes not only user activities but also all operations conducted within the Help Desk tool and the Administration interface. This extensive logging capability ensures thorough tracking and accountability for all interactions within the platform, providing an essential tool for security and administrative oversight.
This data is not deleted, even if the use information is removed for POPIA / GDPR reasons.
We do everything that we can to maintain secure operations for our customers. This includes technology, people and process controls.
All personnel supporting our platforms are subject to BGV check and trained on Data Protection best practices. They are also required to sign NDAs and the Information Security Policy and our Data Protection policies.
Our service also offers an automated Deprovisioning Service that clears up all unused data from the platform to maintain only data in support of active users and processes.
FastPass ensures regular updates for optimal performance and security. For the server components, such as the SSPR backend and IVM, we typically release a major version upgrade once a year. Additionally, we provide 2-3 smaller updates annually, focusing on introducing new features and addressing bug fixes.
It's important to note that the Windows Client, along with the Password Interceptor and Filter components, are designed to be backward compatible with the latest two major versions. This compatibility feature offers flexibility and ease during the upgrade process, ensuring a smooth transition for users and IT administrators.
Note that all MyPass Cloud customer benefits from complete version lifecycle management as part of the service. Any changes to Windows Clients are communicated directly to customers from the MyPass Team.
(On-Premise Customers Only)
FastPass adopts a version-based approach for our End-of-Life policy, focusing on Major and Minor releases. We offer support for the current Major release and the last officially released Major version. For instance, as of now, we support versions 3.6 and 4.0. This means that if you encounter any issues with version 3.6, our support team will assist you, including making necessary fixes to facilitate upgrades. However, we do not provide the same level of support for versions that are two Major releases behind the current one. To ensure continuous support, we recommend upgrading at least once every year, aligning with our Major version release cycle.

MyPass/FastPass offers two secure methods for connecting to Active Directory:
These options ensure flexible and secure integration with your Active Directory environment, catering to different network and security configurations.
For optimal operation of MyPass/FastPass, certain delegated rights in Active Directory are recommended for the privileged account:
For a comprehensive understanding of these permissions and their setup, we encourage reviewing our Delegating Permissions in Active Directory document for detailed guidance.
Yes. MyPass/FastPass is designed to accommodate AD multi-forest environments, supporting an effectively unlimited number of Active Directory forests.
Yes. MyPass/FastPass fully supports hybrid architectures, enabling seamless user authentication and password resets across both on-premises Active Directory and Entra.
Yes. MyPass/FastPass supports multi-factor authentication (MFA) reset, enabling users to securely reconfigure their MFA settings if they lose access to one of their factors or need to update their authentication methods.
Note that various MFA providers are supported, including:
The process is initiated via the self-service portal or IVM, where robust identity verification ensures only authorized users can perform the reset. This integrated feature streamlines recovery while maintaining high security standards, reducing the need for help desk intervention.
Yes. MyPass/FastPass SSPR supports SAML-based SSO integrations, including Entra (formerly Azure AD). This allows users to authenticate seamlessly with their existing SSO environment for self-service password resets.
MyPass/FastPass's SSPR system is designed with the concept of the Minimum Password Age policy in mind. This policy aims to prevent users from rapidly changing passwords to revert to an old one.
By default, MyPass/FastPass performs a password reset followed by setting the new password as chosen by the user, which may not directly consider the Minimum Password Age policy. However, FastPass includes built-in policies to control the frequency of password resets. We recommend configuring the system to allow up to two password resets per day. This setting is particularly helpful for scenarios where users might forget their newly created password, such as during a lunch break, ensuring they can efficiently manage their accounts without compromising security.
BitLocker Self-Service Key Recovery is a feature that lets users securely retrieve their BitLocker recovery key from Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) or on-premises Active Directory without help desk intervention. If a user forgets their PIN or needs to unlock their device during boot, they can authenticate to the self-service portal and obtain the passcode. This reduces downtime, lowers support costs, and ensures only authorized users can access the key—enhancing both convenience and security.
MyPass/FastPass supports a wide range of SAP versions, encompassing both ABAP and Java-based systems. This includes major versions like HANA, ERP (ECC), NetWeaver, S/4 HANA, CRM, SCM, SRM, and Solution Manager. Additionally, it supports various business software modules such as ADP, SAC, ABAP, AFS, BW, BI, and others like FICO, GRC, EHDM, HRMS, IDT, IBP, KW, IBP, PS, PP and SD and more.
If your specific SAP version isn't listed, please contact us, as we likely support it as well.
Yes. MyPass/FastPass fully supports hybrid architectures, enabling seamless user authentication and password resets across both on-premises Active Directory and Entra.
Yes. MyPass/FastPass SSPR supports SAML-based SSO integrations, including Entra (formerly Azure AD). This allows users to authenticate seamlessly with their existing SSO environment for self-service password resets.
To integrate MyPass/FastPass with Entra ID (Azure AD), you need to create an Enterprise Application. This application facilitates the granting of access rights, ensuring the paltform has permissions only to the necessary data fields. This approach helps maintain data security by limiting access strictly to the required information for effective operation.
