The fundamental requirement for MyPass/FastPass Sync for Oracle is a single Virtual Windows server (versions 2019-2022). This acts as a gateway between MyPass, Active Directory and Oracle.
Additionally, MyPass/FastPass Interceptor needs to be installed on all Domain Controllers to facilitate Windows password interception. This intercepts all password changes and sends them to MyPass/FastPass.
For each Oracle Application, a dedicated service account is necessary, along with the Oracle Instant Client installation on the gateway server.
MyPass/FastPass supports a wide range of Oracle Application versions, encompassing database version from 10g onwards, Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and even Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
MyPass/FastPass's ability to handle users in custom applications varies. For applications using native Oracle users, we provide support out of the box. However, if your application uses custom usernames and passwords stored in specific fields and tables, compatibility depends on how the application encrypts or hashes passwords. If the passwords can be set using SQL, MyPass/FastPass can be customized to manage them. If it is necessary to call other function outside SQL, then the SSH or API connector might be the better way.
We recommend contacting us to discuss your application's specific requirements in detail.
Yes, by default the account will be unlocked.
MyPass/FastPass has a user mapping engine for that exact purpose. Usually this is the case, either for some or all users. Sometimes we can make the mapping manually using Active Directory data, a different field, email address, UPN name or parts of the SAMAccountname.
In other cases we get data from an Identity System and in yet other cases we get data from the target system and map on e.g. Email address.
Completely aligning the password policies between Active Directory and Oracle is not always feasible due to certain inherent differences. However, with the FastPass Password Filter, these discrepancies can be effectively managed, ensuring smoother operation. For MyPass/FastPass Sync customers, this filter is provided free of charge.
